OUR STORY

Our History 

Moosa Creek Nursery was founded in 2004 out of a shared passion for California native plants. The nursery started small, with just a few species and minimal growing space.

​

Over the years, the nursery has steadily expanded its plant offerings, growing area, staff, and revenue. Key milestones include:

​

  • 2007: Began selling to farmers markets and increased species grown to 110

  • 2008: Expanded growing area to over 20,000 sq ft and grew 160 species

  • 2009: Reached 4 employees and $200K in annual revenue

  • 2015: Outgrew original location and moved to a larger facility

  • 2019: Grew to 10 employees and over $900K in annual sales

While the numbers reflect impressive growth, what truly defines Moosa Creek Nursery is the people behind it - dedicated staff, partners, and customers who share a love for native plants.

Today, Moosa Creek Nursery continues to be driven by its founding passion for sustainably growing California native plants and inspiring people to incorporate natives into their landscapes. The nursery looks forward to many more years of growth and making a positive impact on gardens, communities, and the environment across California.
