Common Yarrow (Achillea millefolium) is a tough, long-blooming California native perennial with feathery aromatic foliage and flat-topped clusters of small white flowers. One of the most versatile and drought-tolerant natives — at home in meadows, along pathways, and in pollinator and habitat gardens.
Plant care: Plant in full sun in well-drained soil. Water occasionally through the first summer to establish, then drought tolerant. Cut back spent flower stalks to encourage rebloom. Spreads slowly by rhizomes to form a soft groundcover.
Wildlife: A top-tier pollinator plant — supports native bees, butterflies, hoverflies, and beneficial predatory insects. Deer resistant. Excellent in meadow and habitat plantings.
