Sacred Datura (Datura wrightii) is a striking California native perennial with large, trumpet-shaped white flowers that open at dusk and release a sweet fragrance. Silvery-green foliage forms a sprawling mound up to 3 feet tall and 6 feet wide.
Growing: Sow in spring after last frost in full sun and well-drained soil. Extremely drought-tolerant once established.
Wildlife: Night-blooming flowers attract hawk moths and other nocturnal pollinators.
Caution: All parts of this plant are toxic if ingested. Plant away from areas frequented by children and pets.
